Dancing Queens
Hier an der Georg-Weerth-Oberschule gibt es im Bereich des Ganztagesangebotes auch eine Tanz AG. Einmal pro Woche finden hier Stunden mit der professionellen Tänzerin Helena statt. Die Teilnehmenden sind ausschließlich Mädchen und diesen haben wir im folgenden Interview ein paar Fragen gestellt.
At the Georg-Weerth-Schule as an extracurricular there is the possibility of visiting a dance group. Once per week there are lessons given by the professional dancer Helena. All the participants are girls and we asked them some questions during the following interview.
Interview mit Harald Leibrecht
Am Mittwoch den 18. Dezember hat sich der transatlantische Koordinator für die USA und Kanada, „Harald Leibrecht“ für uns Zeit genommen und wir durften ihm unsere Fragen stellen. Daraus haben wir ein Interview gemacht. Sein voller Titel lautet: ‘Koordinator für die transatlantische zwischengesellschaftliche, kultur- und informationspolitische Zusammenarbeit’ und seine Aufgabe ist, wie er selbst sagt: „Der Austausch zwischen jungen Menschen und die Hochschul- und Bildungskooperation.“ Dieses Amt vertritt er seit dem 6. Juli 2011.
Interview with Harald Leibrecht
On Wednesday the 18th december the transatlantic coordinator for USA and Canada, his name is „Harald Leibrecht“, came to our school and spent some time with us. We asked him our questions and conducted an interview. His full title is, if it‘d be translated: ‘Coordinator for the transatlantic cooperation on trans-society, cultural- and information politicy issues’. Mr. Leibrecht says himself that he sees his task in the exchange of the young people and the tertiary- and education cooperation. He started in this department on july 6th of 2011.

Die Märchen von Schönwerth
“Das fliegende Kästchen” ist eines von 500 neuen Märchen, die in einem Archiv in Regensburg, Deutschland für über 150 Jahre weggeschlossen waren. Diese Erzählungen sind Teil einer Sammlung von Mythen, Legenden und Märchen. Der lokale Historiker Franz Xaver von Schönwerth lebte in der Bayrischen Region Oberpfalz, ungefähr zur gleichen Zeit als die Gebrüder Grimm ihre Märchen gesammelt haben, so berichtet der britische Journal “The Guardian”.
Leider sind bisher nur zwei der Märchen ins Englische übersetzt worden.
The fairytales of Schönwerth
“The Flying Little Box” is one of 500 new fairytales, which were locked away in an archive in Regensburg, Germany for over 150 years. The tales are part of a collection of myths, legends and fairytales. The local historian Franz Xaver von Schönwerth (1810–1886) lived in the Bavarian region of Oberpfalz at about the same time as the Grimm brothers were collecting their fairytales, as reported by the british “The Guardian”.
Unfortunately there’re just two of them translated into english so far.

At our school we have a well stocked music room, which we can use to play music and produce sounds.

An der Georg Weerth Oberschule gibt es ca. 20 Schüler, die als Streitschlichter agieren.
Während der Pausen sind immer 4 Streitschlichter jeweils in 2er Teams unterwegs. Die Streitschlichter Ausbildung dauert eine Woche.
There are about 20 students at Georg Weerth Oberschule, who help other students in conflict situations. During breaks, there are two double teams guarding the schoolyard. The conflict pilot training is one week.
